Apparently, some UK researchers are looking for a new way for wireless devices to communicate. Mostly for cellphones, the idea is that you hold them together and shake them. They’d have internal accelerometers and the devices would communicate if they were similar enough.
Seems like pretty entertaining idea. It has to be more secure than Bluetooth technologies where you can just identify phones or other Bluetooth devices and just do connect whenever you want. If this comes to fruitition I want to be credited with the idea of walking behind someone and shaking your phone in tune with their walk, to allow them to synch.
I really like the idea.

this is scary somehow. Think about all the people running around and shaking their cellphones ;)
