[Magic]

Magic

Lately, I’ve feeling rather metaphysical, and I’d like to go over a few things of the sort today. Arthur C Clarke
said in his third law: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” This seems to state that technology like that which makes High Speed trains work is rather advanced and to someone a little further back in time it would be straight-up amazing. That isn’t the way I’m taking this thought, though. I’m going along the lines of how the world works and how magical it really is. This idea came from seeing The Fountain for the second time rather recently.
There are spoilers here, so if you haven’t seen the movie then you’re going to have a little bit of insight.

In the movie, they talk about when you die you could plant a seed over your grave. The tree would somewhat devour your nutrients and you’d then be part of this tree. I really like this idea and since then have wanted this to be my fate. Continuing this, the tree will have birds that eat things from the trees, bugs that eat from the tree, which are then eaten, killed, decomposed, eaten, et cetera. There are problems, however, with the modern burial procedure and I don’t want to be buried in one of those big metal boxes, I think it’s a waste. Though even with our stupid modern burial techniques, this is still bound to happen. You become part of everything when you die, biologically at the very least, but it extends even more than that. Furthermore, this is what makes me a Taoist of sorts. I know, scientifically, that we are all made of the same thing. There is not you or I, there is only Matter. Matter is in everything and is the only thing to this world. Energy Flows. Taoism is Science!

What about electronics which we’ve harnassed to do amazing things. Look at the pharmaceutical companies and how they can produce straight-up ridiculous things.

I tell you, guys. The world is magic.
